This weekend saw us winding our way through country roads heading up to Cookstown to play for the Magherafelt Motor Club. They hold an annual dinner and awards ceremony and had asked us to provide their entertainment.
The organisers had told us that a previous event didn´t go too well when the band they´d booked turned out to be unsuitable and had to be brought in for an early "pit stop"!
So we had to get this right to make sure the organiser didn´t have egg on his face!
The night went very well. And, although we were expecting a room full of burly blokes talking about torque wrenches, cam shafts and 100mph dashes through the forest, there was a great mix of a crowd who all seemed to enjoy themselves.
I was surprised that the two big numbers of the night to everyone going, were "Human" by The Killers and "Sex of Fire" by Kings of Leon. It just shows you that even the over 30´s can still appreciate a great modern tune! ;-)
Not just a wedding band
When the night was over and the chequered flag was raised, a guy came up to thank us and say how much he enjoyed the show.
He said, he´d visited this web site and commented that "after that performance, it shows your not just a wedding band".
Well, the truth is, we´re not just a wedding band, we´re a great wedding band!
