If so then you´re probably, like us, born in the 60´s and a teen of the 80´s! (woops, shouldn´t really give our age away should I?)
If you were born in the 80´s and a teen of the Noughties, then I´d be expecting you to be asking The Usual Suspects to play The Killers, Kings of Leon or The Kaiser Cheifs.
I´d certainly wonder why you´d remember the oldies like "Gold", "Money for Nothing" and "Can´t Stand Losing You". Great songs though they are.
Money for nothing and chicks for free
I always considered the 1980´s to be a forgotten decade in terms of music. Being asked for 80´s music at The Bot isn´t something I´d expect.
But thats exactly the material a group of lads have been asking for. Over the past couple of weeks they´ve been pushing us to play songs that we haven´t played in 20 years.
Stevie had a go at the Dire Straits classic "Money For Nothing" and, to his credit, got at least half way through before we stopped the song and stopped a complete disaster that chased everyone out of the place!
Oldies but Goodies
The lads have made us feel quite nostalgic! One of them referred to the songs as "Oldies but Goodies".
I hope to God they´re not using the same phrase to describe The Usual Suspects!
